Minutes of Regular Monthly Meeting
of the
Haworth Volunteer Firefighters Association


CALL TO ORDER:
       The Haworth Volunteer Firefighters Association held a regularly scheduled monthly business meeting on Tuesday, January 13, 2004 at the Haworth Fire Station.  Secretary/Treasurer Kirk Storey called the meeting to order at 6:54 p.m.  Members present were: Gray, Owens, Carrell, Smith, Middleton, Farley, Cowart, Ferguson, Donaldson, and Storey.  Guest present: Landon Middleton.
 
MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING:
       Minutes of the previous meeting were presented.  Smith moved to accept the minutes as written.  Cowart seconded.  All members in favor.  Minutes approved.

       Cowart moved to accept financial report.  Gray seconded.  Financial Report approved.
       Storey presented the Haworth Volunteer Firefighters Association 2003 Yearly Financial Report.
 
OLD BUSINESS:
       Storey reported that Marsh and Ferguson had arranged to sell the eight fire hydrants to the Town of Garvin for $2,000.
 
NEW BUSINESS:
       Members discussed the need for sirens and speakers for Tank-1 and Truck-6.  Storey presented prices from various vendors. Gray moved to purchase two used Federal Signal PA300 Sirens from Big Bear Cruisers for $50.00 each and two used speakers from Affordable Fire Equipment for $65.00 each.  Smith seconded.  All members in favor.  Purchase approved.
 
       Ferguson stated that he would like to obtain a sign and letters for the Pollard Substation that could be used to advertise upcoming events.  Middleton reported that he possibly had one at his work place that could be obtained.  Middleton will coordinate with Ferguson on the matter.
 
       Members discussed changing the date of the regularly scheduled meetings of the Association, so that members could attend McCurtain County Firefighters Association meetings, which are currently held on the same night.  This would also allow members to attend training provided by the County Association.  The matter was tabled until next months meeting.
 
       Members discussed repairing and equipping Truck-4.  Cowart moved to take the truck to the Chevrolet dealership in Broken Bow to find out how much it would cost to repair the starter system, and if it was less than $500, have the necessary repairs made.  Ferguson seconded.  All members in favor.  Motion approved.
 
ADJOURN:
       Cowart moved to adjourn.  Gray seconded.  All members in favor.  Meeting adjourned at 7:36 p.m.
