CHANGE DATE OF
REGULAR MEETINGS
Boyd
reported that the Town had
changed the time of their regular monthly meetings to 6:00 p.m. He expressed a desire to change the
Association’s regular meeting date from the first Tuesday of each month
at 6:45
p.m., to the second Tuesday of each month at 6:45 p.m.
This would allow him to attend the Town
Council meetings and keep Town officials apprised of the Fire
Department’s activities. It would also
allow Don White, who is also a
member of the Town Council, to be able to attend Association meetings
again. Cowart moved to change the
meeting date to the second Tuesday. Hall
seconded. All members in favor. Motion carried.
REPAIRS ON
VENTILATION FAN ON ENGINE-2
Members
discussed repairing the
positive pressure ventilation fan on Engine-2.
Boyd reported that the carburetor was leaking gasoline. Members will attempt to repair the fan, but
if unsuccessful the unit will be taken to a small engine repair shop.
PURCHASE WATER
& AIR LINES FOR MAIN STATION
Batson
suggested purchasing supplies
necessary to run water and air lines to the front of the station. Middleton moved to purchase the
supplies. Gray seconded.
All members in favor. Motion
carried.
OLD
BUSINESS
Middleton reported
that the power unit on the Jaws of Life
set acquired from the Winchester Fire Department (Winchester, MA) has a
carburetor problem. Parts are extremely
difficult to locate and dependability of the unit is questionable, due
to its
age. Members discussed replacing the 2
cycle power unit with a 4 cycle power unit.
Storey presented information on a few used power units he had
located. Members selected a package
offer from Howell Rescue Systems. The
package includes a 4 cycle power unit with 3-way valve, a Rescue 90
cutter, two
16 feet extension hoses, and two gallons of hydraulic fluid. The cost of this package is $2,850.00 plus
freight charges. Ferguson moved to
purchase the package. Cowart seconded. All members in favor. Motion
carried. Members requested that Storey
inquire about
trading in the old power unit on the replacement.
NEW
BUSINESS
Boyd
reported that the phone patch
on the department’s repeater continues to have a problem with the
ringer, after
several attempts to repair it. Storey
reported that a new VP4700 phone patch costs $292.00 through Alphabet
Electronics. Cowart moved to purchase
the new phone patch. Ferguson
seconded. All members in favor. Motion carried.
ADJOURN
Batson
moved to adjourn. Gray seconded. Meeting adjourned at 8:15 p.m.
