Minutes of Regular Monthly Meeting
of the
Haworth Volunteer Firefighters Association
CALL TO ORDER
The Haworth Volunteer Firefighters
Association held a rescheduled monthly business meeting on Monday,
March 11, 2002 at the Haworth Fire Station. Meeting was called to
order at 7:20 p.m. by Secretary/Treasurer Storey. Members present
were: Middleton, Batson, Owens, Marsh, Wright, Boyd, Cowart, White, M.
Carrell, Farley, Storey and Ebert.
MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING
Minutes of the previous meeting were
read. Cowart moved to accept. Farley seconded. All
members in favor. Minutes approved.

BRUSH TRUCK PROJECT UPDATE
Truck has been ordered from James Hodge
Ford. Equipment has also been ordered.
FIRE ACT GRANT
Members discussed the 2002 FIRE Act Grant
program. Middleton stated that he would like to apply for funding
to purchase a pumper/tanker. The total estimated cost of the
project would be approximately $110,000. If awarded, the grant
would provide $99,000, with the remaining $11,000 to be provided by the
Haworth Volunteer Firefighters Association. Wright moved to
approve the proposed project and apply for the grant. Batson
seconded. All members in favor. Motion carried.
PURCHASE OF 1970 FORD PUMPER
Middleton reported that the Short Tract Fire
Department in Fillmore, New York had agreed to sell a 1970 Ford pumper,
equipped with a 1,000 GPM pump and a 1,000 gallon tank, to the
department for $2,000. The pumper also comes with 5 SCBA, 1 spare
SCBA bottle, a 35' extension ladder, and 5 sections of hard suction
hose. Batson moved to approve purchase. Marsh
seconded. Purchase approved.
OLD BUSINESS

NEW BUSINESS
Boyd requested that “Purchase of Pickup Bed
for Truck-4" be placed on next months agenda.
Batson requested that “Purchase of Booster Hose"
also be placed on agenda.

Cowart moved to adjourn. Middleton
seconded. Meeting adjourned at 8:00 p.m.
