Monthly Meeting
CALL TO ORDER:
The Haworth
Volunteer Firefighters Association held
a regularly scheduled monthly business meeting on Monday, March 13,
2006 at the Haworth Fire Department. President Chad Wright called
the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. Members present were: Lyndon
Farley, Chad Wright, Jim Ferguson, Floyd Middleton, and Kirk
Storey. Junior Firefighters present: Landon Middleton, Shane
Farley, Jay Don Tunnell, and Jarred Campbell.
MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING:
Minutes of
the previous meeting were
presented. Middleton moved to accept the minutes as
written. Ferguson seconded. All members in favor.
Minutes approved.

moved to accept financial report.
Ferguson seconded. All members in favor. Financial Report
approved.
OLD BUSINESS:
Members
discussed grant awarded by the Oklahoma Dept
of Agriculture for upgrades to the radio communication system and the
purchase of handheld radios. Storey reported that the radio tech
had advised the repeater system is operating at peak performance and
that extending the systems range would involve moving the antenna
higher on the tower. Ferguson stated he would contact Jerry
Whisenhunt about moving the antenna. If it is not possible to
move the antenna, members discussed using the entire grant amount to
purchase radios and accessories.
Member
discussed grant awarded by the Oklahoma Dept
of Agriculture for construction of the new training/meeting room at the
Haworth Fire Station. Member will create floor plan after meeting
and submit to Bailey Lumber for computerized materials list and price
quote.
NEW BUSINESS:
Storey
reported that the filing period for the
Assistance to Firefighters Grant was now open. Wright appointed
Ferguson, Middleton, Farley, himself, and the Junior Firefighters to
the grant committee. Committee members will meet next week to
decide what equipment to apply for.
