Monthly Meeting
CALL TO ORDER:
The Haworth
Volunteer Firefighters Association held
a regularly scheduled monthly business meeting on Monday, July 10, 2006
at the Haworth Fire Department. President Chad Wright called the
meeting to order at 6:49 p.m. Members present were: Chad Wright,
Floyd Middleton, Chris Hall, Vic Marsh, Jim Ferguson, Jarred Campbell,
Eric Jackson, Keith Donaldson, Clint Ebert, and Kirk Storey.
Junior Firefighters present: Shane Farley and Jay Don Tunnell.
MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING:
Minutes of
the previous meeting were
presented. Marsh moved to accept the minutes as written.
Hall seconded. All members in favor. Minutes approved.
PRESIDENT’S REPORT:
Middleton
related a recent call to a structure fire
where the owner would not allow firefighters to extinguish the
fire. Firefighters were told that state law requires them to
extinguish the fire when called. If the property owners refuses,
firefighters are to contact the sheriff’s office and request a deputy.

moved to accept financial report.
Marsh seconded. All members in favor. Financial Report
approved.
ELECTION OF OFFICERS:
Wright
opened the floor for nominations for
President. Marsh moved that Wright retain the position.
Ferguson seconded. No further nominations offered. Wright
re-elected as President.
Wright
opened the floor for nominations for Vice
President. Marsh nominated Ferguson. Middleton
seconded. No further nominations. Ferguson elected as
Vice President.
Wright
opened the floor for nominations for
Secretary/Treasurer. Marsh moved that Storey retain the
position. Middleton seconded. No further nominations.
Storey re-elected as Secretary/Treasurer.
OLD BUSINESS:
Members
discussed purchasing new caps.
Smithson quoted a price of $9.40 each (+$1 for name on back). The
previous caps were purchased from Stitch-n-Stuff in Wilburton for
approximately $6.00 each. Members decided to table the matter
until current construction projects were completed.
NEW BUSINESS:
Members
discussed the benefit pie/cake auction and
ice cream supper in conjunction with a political candidate speaking on
July 21st at the Haworth School cafeteria at 6:00 p.m. The
Goodwater Masonic Lodge will match $1,000 of the proceeds from the
event. The money will be used for the communications systems
upgrades.
Members
agreed to postpone the training that had
originally been scheduled for July 21st.
Members
discussed installing a larger water tank on
Truck-2 at the Pollard Substation.

to adjourn. Jackson
seconded. All members in favor. Meeting adjourned at 7:49
p.m.
