OLD BUSINESS
Storey presented a report on the August 5th benefit bean dinner for
the Redland Fire Hydrant and equipment for the pumper housed at the Redland
Substation. The benefit raised $708.00 in cash and an additional
$445.00 in checks, for a total of $1,153.00. Following the benefit,
a donation of $200.00 was received from the Redland Community Watch group.
Two additional donations were also received; $10.00 from Bob Potts and
$5.00 from Melba Hughes. The total amount of money raised for the
project is $1,368.00.
At the conclusion of the benefit dinner, the $708.00 in cash, along
with an Association check for $292.00, was presented to James Pettiet,
Worshipful Master of the Goodwater Masonic Lodge #148. The lodge
has agreed to “match” up to $1,000.00 of the proceeds from the fundraiser.
An Association check was necessary, due to the fact that the checks collected
at the benefit had already been made payable to the Fire Department.
Once the matching money is received from the Masons, the total amount of
money raised for the project will be $2,368.00.
