Minutes of Regular Monthly Meeting
of the
Haworth Volunteer Firefighters Association

CALL TO ORDER
The Haworth Volunteer Firefighters Association held a regular monthly business meeting on Tuesday, September 4, 2001 at the Haworth Fire Station.  Meeting was called to order at 6:56 p.m. by Hall.  Members present were: Ferguson,  Hattabaugh, Middleton, Wright, Hall, Marsh, and Storey.

MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING
Minutes of the previous meeting were read.  Hattabaugh moved to accept.  Wright   seconded.  All members in favor.  Minutes approved.

Ferguson moved to accept.  Wright seconded.  All members in favor.  Report approved.

KEDDO GRANT
Storey reported that the official grant award letter for the 50/50 Department of Agriculture grant had been received.  The grant amount is $2,500.00 and must be matched locally with a minimum of $2,500.00.  The grant is to be used for the purchase of new bunker gear.

Storey reported that Chief Fire & Safety offers a set of Chieftain Nomex bunker gear (coat & pants) for $575.00.  A total of nine sets of bunkers can be purchased for $5,175.00.

Members discussed purchasing Gear Bags for firefighters who do not leave their gear at the fire station.  It was suggested that gear racks be built at the station for firefighters choosing to leave their gear there.

Wright moved to purchase nine sets of Nomex bunker gear and six gear bags.  Ferguson seconded.  All members in favor.  Motion carried.

REPAIRS TO TRUCK-3
Middleton reported that Mark Jennings had offered to buy a new motor for Truck-3.  Hattabaugh moved to rescind the motion to sell the truck and accept Jennings’ offer.  Wright seconded.  All members in favor.  Motion rescinded.

OLD BUSINESS
None

NEW BUSINESS
Members discussed the purchase of Streamlight Litebox flashlights for trucks not currently equipped with them.  Middleton moved to purchase four Streamlight Litebox flashlights.  Ferguson seconded.  All members in favor.  Motion approved.

ADJOURN
Marsh moved to adjourn.  Ferguson seconded.  Meeting adjourned at 7:17 p.m.
