CALL TO ORDER:
The Haworth Volunteer Firefighters Association held a
rescheduled monthly business meeting on Tuesday,
September 14, 2004 at
the Haworth Fire Department. President
Chad Wright called the meeting to
order at 7:37 p.m. Members present were: Kyle Batson, Floyd
Middleton, Chris Hall, Lyndon Farley, Jim Ferguson, Aubrey Gray, David
Smith,
Eric Jackson, John Coffman, Chad Wright, Vic Marsh, Clint Ebert, Donnie
Gray,
Ryan Scott, and Kirk Storey. Junior
Firefighters present were: Landon Middleton, Kyle Gray, Jarred
Campbell, and
Shane Farley.
MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING:
Minutes of the previous meeting were presented.
Jim Ferguson moved to accept the minutes as written. Ebert seconded. All
members in favor. Minutes approved.
PRESIDENT’S REPORT:
Wright reported that he would start bringing up safety
topics for discussion during the President’s Report.
Wright related an incident in the county where
a firefighter struck a horse and rider while responding to a fire in
his
personal vehicle. He also brought up an
incident where firefighters rolled their pumper while responding to a
call. Duties and priorities of
drivers/operators were discussed. Wright
also discussed the need for members to train as a group.

Donaldson seconded. All members in
favor. Financial Report approved.
ASSISTANCE TO FIREFIGHTERS GRANT:
Storey reported that the department still owed a balance
of $6,830.15 to Wayest Safety for the items purchased with the 2003 AFG. He stated that after paying the balance, the
grant could be closed out. Members
instructed him to pay the amount as soon as funds were available.
OLD BUSINESS:
None.
NEW BUSINESS:
Ebert reported that students from Haworth
High School would be painting Lion Paw Prints on
the highway Saturday morning and
asked to use a fire truck for traffic control.
Permission was granted.
