Minutes of Regular Monthly Meeting

Haworth Volunteer Firefighters Association

CALL TO ORDER
The Haworth Volunteer Firefighters Association held a regular monthly business meeting on Tuesday, October 2, 2001 at the Haworth Fire Station.  Meeting was called to order at 6:50 p.m. by Donaldson.  Members present were: Farley, Middleton, Owens, Donaldson, Cowart, White, & Storey.

MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING
Minutes of the previous meeting were read.  Cowart moved to accept.  Owens   seconded.  All members in favor.  Minutes approved.

Cowart moved to accept.  Farley seconded.  All members in favor.  Report approved.

OLD BUSINESS
Storey reported that the price of the bunker gear to be purchased from Chief Fire & Safety was: $577 for Chieftain and $640 for Securitex.  The Securitex gear would be custom-fit, whereas the Chieftain would be generic sized.  Cowart moved to purchase Securitex.  Owens seconded.  All members in favor.  Motion carried.

NEW BUSINESS
Storey reported that the Bureau of Indian Affairs had sent an application for the Rural Fire Assistance grant.  The maximum amount provided by the BIA will be $20,000 that will be combined with a minimum of 10% local matching money.  White moved to apply for the maximum amount for the purpose of buying a new or late model 3/4 ton 4x4 pickup and new slide-in tank/pump unit.  Cowart seconded.  All members in favor.  Motion carried.

Storey reported that a new radiator had been ordered for Truck-2.

Middleton moved to adjourn.  Farley seconded.  Meeting adjourned at 7:10 p.m.
