Minutes of Regular Monthly Meeting
of the
Haworth Volunteer Firefighters Association

CALL TO ORDER:
       The Haworth Volunteer Firefighters Association held a rescheduled monthly business meeting on Tuesday, October 12, 2004 at the Haworth Fire Department.  President Chad Wright called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.  Members present were: Kirk Storey, Vic Marsh, Keith Donaldson, Chad Wright, Eric Jackson, David Smith, Lyndon Farley, Mark Kates, Floyd Middleton, and Chris Hall.  Junior Firefighters present were: Landon Middleton, Jarred Campbell, and Shane Farley.
 
MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING:
       Minutes of the previous meeting were presented.  Donaldson moved to accept the minutes as written.  Smith seconded.  All members in favor.  Minutes approved.
 
PRESIDENT’S REPORT:
       Wright discussed proper placement of apparatus on fire scenes.  He stated that the “Red Zone”, or collapse zone, is twice the height of the structure.  Performing a thorough scene assessment is vital.  Firefighters must always be watchful for hazards.
 
FINANCIAL REPORT:

       Jackson moved to accept financial report.  Donaldson seconded.  All members in favor.  Financial Report approved.
 
OLD BUSINESS:
       Storey reported that he is working with Kendoo Technology to get the defective radio batteries replaced.  Marsh requested that all batteries on the past two invoices be replaced.  Storey will contact Kendoo regarding the replacement.
       Marsh stated that all of the fire hydrants need to be repainted with yellow safety paint to increase their visibility.
       Marsh stated that any firefighter who has not already picked up their new gear should do so immediately.

       Donaldson moved to adjourn.  Jackson seconded.  All members in favor.  Meeting adjourned at 7:34 p.m.
