OLD BUSINESS
Middleton reported that the Redland fire hydrant had been repaired and re-installed.  Storey reported that the total cost on the Redland Fire Hydrant Project was $1,259.73.  This included $962.43 for the original parts and supplies, plus an additional $297.30 for parts to repair the hydrant after being damaged by rocks that had gotten into the water line.

Middleton stated that after the hydrant was originally installed, the water line feeding the hydrant leaked, so Rural Water dug it up and repaired the leaking line.  Rocks were apparently allowed to fall into the water line and the next time the hydrant was used some of the rocks damaged the rubber seal in the base of the stem.  This allowed water to leak through the hydrant.  Rural Water again dug up the hydrant and replaced the damaged part.  They also installed a shorter stem (barrel).
