The Haworth Volunteer Fire Department held a Regular Monthly Meeting on Tuesday, January 5, 1999 at the Haworth Fire Department.  Meeting was called to order at 6:31 p.m. by Middleton.  Members present were: Storey, Batson, Smith, White, D. Johnson, Boyd, Middleton, Farley, Hall, and Carrell.

Minutes of the previous meeting were read.  Boyd moved to accept.  Smith seconded.  All members were in favor.  Minutes approved.

Storey reported no expenses or income for the previous month.  Current balance is $3,454.85.  Batson moved to accept.  White seconded.  All members in favor.  Financial report approved.

The building grant was discussed.  Storey reported that he had notified Darlene at Oklahoma State Forestry that the construction project was being delayed while we were awaiting official word on the Town’s REAP Grant.

The Mobile Command Post was discussed.  Shinewell Fire Dept has requested $250.00 to be used to build cabinets in the van.  Members felt that the matter should be tabled until a later date.  Boyd suggested that a committee composed of members from each department be set up to oversee the van.  HFD participation on the project is contingent upon the establishment of the board.

The “pay off” amount on the loan for the Hahn was tabled.

Vehicle Maintenance was discussed.  Boyd stressed the need to get regular with the vehicle checks.  Members agreed to break into two-man teams after the meetings and perform the inspections.  Once every six months, special maintenance is to be performed (oil change, etc).

A vote on ending the probationary period of firefighter Sonny J. Carrell was taken.  White moved to approve Carrell for full membership.  Boyd seconded.  All members in favor.  Motion carries.
