Minutes of Regular Monthly Meeting
of the
Haworth Volunteer Fire Department
CALL TO ORDER
The Haworth Volunteer Fire Department held a regularly scheduled monthly business meeting on Tuesday, March 11, 2003 at the Haworth Fire Station.  Meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by Boyd.  Members present were: Donaldson, Owens, Marsh, Batson, Ferguson, Gray, Boyd, Cowart, Middleton, Carrell, Farley, Hall, and Storey.
   
MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING
Minutes from the previous meeting were read.  Donaldson moved to accept.  Gray seconded.  All members in favor.  Minutes approved.

FINANCIAL REPORT
Beginning Balance:    $1,076.17
Income:                    $   150.00    Town Water Customers - $1 Donations

Donaldson moved to accept report.  Middleton seconded.  All members in favor.  Finance report approved.

2003 FIRE ACT GRANT
    Storey reported that the filing period for the 2003 FIRE Act Grants had just opened.  Members discussed which category to apply for funding under.  Members agreed that the Equipment Category would be more beneficial to the Department and decided to apply for funding to purchase 20 sets of Structural Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), 20 sets of Wildland PPE, 20 Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) with PASS Devices and Spare Cylinders, a SCBA Cylinder Refilling Station, and a 4-Bottle Mobile Cascade System.  The estimated total costs of this project will be $136,500.  The Fire Department/Association would be required to provide 10% of the funding: $13,650.  Middleton moved to apply for the Equipment Grant.  Donaldson seconded.  All members in favor.  Motion carried.

OLD BUSINESS

NEW BUSINESS
Members were reminded that the Annual Volunteer Firefighters Challenge would be held during the Dogwood Days Festival in Idabel on April 5th at 1:00 p.m.  Boyd requested that members interested in participating attend a practice session at the Haworth Fire Station on Saturday, March 15th at 9:00 a.m.
