Minutes of Regular Monthly Meeting
of the
Haworth Volunteer Fire Department

The Haworth Volunteer Fire Department held a Regular Monthly Meeting on Tuesday, March 3, 1998 at the Haworth Fire Department.  Meeting was called to order at 6:38 p.m. by Assistant Chief Richard Smith.  Members present were: Batson, Boyd, Johnson, Smith, Storey, White, Wilcox, Hall, Farley, and Carrell.  Others present: Mayor Jack Brown.

Minutes of the previous meeting were read.  Boyd moved to accept.  Wilcox seconded.  All members were in favor.  Minutes approved.

Storey reported that the Department's current Balance is $1,124.44.  No income or expenses.  Batson moved to accept the financial report.  Smith seconded.  All members in favor.  Financial report approved.

Smith reported that the Gama Goat (Truck-2) had been transferred to the Idabel Fire Department.  Middleton is to contact Larry Morgan to take care of the paperwork and to request a replacement truck.

The Department's current fundraiser was discussed.  The drawing for the Ruger Model 77 rifle will be held during the Department's April meeting.  Proceeds will be used to finance the moving of the repeater system to the Pine Cable tower North of Haworth.

Smith reported that he would like to have a vehicle maintenance training session on Saturday, March 14th, beginning at 2:30 p.m.  Purpose will be ti instruct firefighters in proper monthly maintenance inspection procedures.

Inactive Firefighter issue tabled until Chief is present.

Old Business:  Booster hose reels discussed.  Was decided to hook up booster reels on Engine-2.  Decided to put a fifty foot 1 1/2" preconnect on Engine-2 for dumpster fires.

New Business: Boyd discussed National Fire Prevention Week.  Expressed desire to get the Town involved and to proclaim that week as Fire Prevention Week.  ALso discussed obtaining stickers to place on bedroom windows of children, handicapped, and elderly.

Discussed abatement ordinance with Mayor Brown.  The Mayor is to research the matter and report back to the Department.

Boyd moved to adjourn.  Batson seconded.  All members in favor.  Meeting adjourned at 7:05 p.m.
