Minutes of Regular Monthly Meeting
of the
Haworth Volunteer Fire Department
CALL TO ORDER
The Haworth Volunteer Fire Department held a regularly scheduled monthly business meeting on Tuesday, April 8, 2003 at the Haworth Fire Station.  Meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by Boyd.  Members present were: Middleton, Smith, Donaldson, Owens, Gray, Batson, Boyd, Storey, Ferguson, and Hall.
   
MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING
Minutes from the previous meeting were read.  Donaldson moved to accept.  Cowart seconded.  All members in favor.  Minutes approved.

FINANCIAL REPORT
Beginning Balance:    $1,261.81
Income:                    $            0
Expense:                   $            0
Ending Balance:        $1,261.81
Donaldson moved to accept report.  Smith seconded.  All members in favor.  Report approved.

VOTE ON PROBATIONARY MEMBER: CLINT EBERT
Storey reported that the one year probationary period for Clint Ebert had ended and a vote of members was necessary to confirm Ebert’s full membership.  Ferguson moved to retain Ebert.  Donaldson seconded.  All members in favor.  Motion carried.  Ebert retained as firefighters.

OLD BUSINESS
Storey reported that the Department’s 2003 FIRE Act Grant application had been submitted to FEMA.

Boyd reported that the Department’s team won 1st Place in the annual Volunteer Firefighter Challenge.  In addition to the $800.00 prize money, the Department also received a tool set and a case of oil.

NEW BUSINESS
Boyd announced that the Firefighter Challenge team wanted to use a portion of the prize money to hold a hamburger cookout at the Fire Station on April 12th, at 6:00 pm.  All Haworth firefighters and their families are invited.

Training on the use of the Jaws of Life will be held on Saturday, April 19th at 11:00 a.m. at Cameron’s Garage in Pleasant Hill.

An OSU – Fire Service Training sponsored Vehicle Extrication Course will be held on April 26th and 27th at the Idabel Fire Department.  Members attending must have already attended Introduction to Technical Rescue.

Middleton moved to adjourn.  Hall seconded.  Meeting adjourned at 7:01 p.m.
