Monthly Meeting
CALL TO ORDER:
The Haworth
Volunteer Fire Department held a
regularly scheduled monthly business meeting on Tuesday, April 12, 2005
at the Haworth Fire Department. Chief Vic Marsh called the
meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. Members present were: Lyndon
Farley, Jim Ferguson, Kyle Batson, Mark Kates, Floyd Middleton, Chad
Wright, Clint Ebert, Scott Smith, Vic Marsh, Michael Carrell, and Kirk
Storey. Junior Firefighters present were: Landon Middleton,
Jarred Campbell, and Shane Farley. Guest present: Scott Harris.
MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING:
Minutes of
the previous meeting were
presented. Wright moved to accept the minutes as written.
Middleton seconded. All members in favor. Minutes approved.

Middleton
moved to accept financial report.
Kates seconded. All members in favor. Financial Report
approved.
HIRE FIREFIGHER(S):
Marsh
reported that the department had one opening
and Scott Smith had submitted an application to join the
department. Wright moved to hire Scott Smith. Jackson
seconded. All members in favor. Motion carried. Scott
Smith enrolled as probationary firefighters effective this date.
OLD BUSINESS:
The new
Amkus extrication tools will be delivered
after the meeting. Members will receive training on the new tools
immediately following the meeting.
The County
has placed a load of white rock at the
Pollard Post Hydrant.
The
department’s 2005 FIRE Act grant application has
been submitted. The application seeks funding for training,
training equipment and supplies, and a small amount of equipment.
The annual
Haworth Fire Department Cook-Out is
scheduled for April 30th at 6 pm.
Middleton
repaired the tank on Tank-2.
The Haworth
Team won 2nd Place in the Annual
Firefighter Challenge in Idabel. The Junior Firefighters won 4th
Place.
The chasis
for the new pumper/tanker has been
delivered to the Central States’ production facility.
The County
has provided the metal to build dump
valves for the tankers.
NEW BUSINESS:
Ferguson
inquired about holding a Car Wash
fundraiser at the Pollard Substation for the Relay-For-Life.
Members agreed to the proposal.
Wright
stated that he would pick up the metal for
the new Redland Substation next week.

seconded. All members in favor. Meeting adjourned at 6:36
p.m.
