The Haworth Volunteer Fire Department held a Regular Monthly Meeting on Tuesday, April 7, 1998 at the Haworth Fire Department.  Meeting was called to order at 6:38 p.m. by Middleton.  Members present were: Boyd, Johnson, Smith, Storey, White, Wilcox, Hall, Farley, Middleton,  and Carrell.  Others present: Frank Pogue and Jerry Guffey.

Minutes of the previous meeting were read.  Boyd moved to accept.  Hall seconded.  All members were in favor.  Minutes approved.

Storey reported that the Department had an incomes of $1,079.13 from KEDDO and $465.00 proceeds from the fundraiser.  The Department’s current Balance is $2,668.57.  Middleton moved to accept the financial report.  Wilcox  seconded.  All members in favor.  Financial report approved.

The amount of the recent grant from KEDDO to pay on the bank loan was discussed.  Storey reported that the grant was for $1,079.13.  Smith moved to pay the entire amount on the loan.  Wilcox seconded.  All members in favor.  Motion carries.

Middleton requested a vote of members on retaining probationary member Wilcox.  Middleton requested a show of hands vote.  All members voted to retain Wilcox.

Storey reported that the Department had received a letter of resignation from Roger Kates.  Reason listed in resignation was health problems.  Middleton moved to accept.  Carrell seconded.  All members in favor.  Motion carries.

Drawing for Rifle is to be held immediately following the Department and Association meetings.

Old Business: Vehicle maintenance was again discussed.  Smith reported that he want to try to reschedule the vehicle maintenance training.  Will coordinate with other firefighters to pick a weekend that is free.

New Business: None.

Boyd moved to adjourn.  Wilcox seconded.  All members in favor.  Meeting adjourned at 6:49 p.m.
