Minutes of Regular Monthly Meeting
of the
Haworth Volunteer Fire Department

CALL TO ORDER
The Haworth Volunteer Fire Department held a regularly scheduled monthly business meeting on Tuesday, May 7, 2002 at the Haworth Fire Station.  Meeting was called to order at 6:45 p.m. by Chief Middleton.  Members present were: Farley, Boyd, Marsh, Batson, Owens, Middleton, White, Cowart, Donaldson, Wright, M. Carrell, and Storey.  Others present: David Smith and Ricky Whisenhunt.

MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING
Minutes of the previous meeting were read.  Batson moved to accept.    Marsh seconded.  All members in favor.  Minutes approved.

FINANCIAL REPORT
Beginning Balance:    $    626.17
Income:                    $             0
Expenses:                 $             0
Ending Balance:        $    626.17
Cowart moved to accept finance report.  Batson seconded.  All members in favor.  Finance report approved.

HIRE FIREFIGHTER
Storey reported that the Department had one active application on file; David Smith.  Wright moved to hire Smith.  Batson seconded.  All members in favor.  Smith enrolled as a firefighter effective this date.

OLD BUSINESS
Middleton stated that he had informed the Eagletown Volunteer Fire Department of the Department’s decision to give them full ownership of the International pumper.

Members discussed and approved the proposal of removing the bed from the 1-ton Ford and placing it on the Chevrolet (Truck-4).

Members discussed the disposal of the 1-ton Ford.  Boyd moved to remove the bed and wheels  and give the cab & chassis to Richard Owens.  Donaldson seconded.  All members in favor.  Motion approved.

Boyd moved to adjourn.  Cowart seconded.  Meeting adjourned at 6:55 p.m.
