Minutes of Regular Monthly Meeting
of the
Haworth Volunteer Fire Department


CALL TO ORDER:
       The Haworth Volunteer Fire Department held a regularly scheduled monthly business meeting on Monday, May 10, 2004 at the Haworth Fire Station.  Captain Floyd Middleton called the meeting to order at 6:41 p.m.  Members present were: Eric Jackson, David Smith, Clay Hattabaugh, Lyndon Farley, Michael Carrell, Floyd Middleton, and Kirk Storey.  Junior Firefighters present were: Landon Middleton, Jarred Campbell and Shane Farley.
 
MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING:
       Minutes of the previous meeting were presented.  Hattabaugh moved to accept the minutes as written.  Smith seconded.  All members in favor.  Minutes approved.
 
FINANCIAL REPORT:
 Beginning Balance:  $21,773.49
 Income:             $   142.00     Town Water Customers - $1 Donations
                     $   500.00     Shelter Insurance – Run Fee for Whisenhunt Fire
 Expenses:           $   180.01     FuelMan – Fuel
 Ending Balance      $22,235.48
       Carrell moved to accept financial report.  Hattabaugh seconded.  Financial Report approved.
 
JUNIOR FIREFIGHTER PROGRAM:
       Storey reported that he had obtained rules and regulations regarding Junior Firefighter Programs in other states and was in the process of compiling a set of rules and regulations for the department’s program.  He also reported that he was working on a Liability Release for participant’s parents to sign.
 
OLD BUSINESS:
       None.
 
NEW BUSINESS:
       Donnie Gray scheduled an Introduction to Technical Rescue course that will be held on June 29th and July 1st from 6:30 p.m. until 10:30 p.m. at the Haworth Fire Station.  The instructor for the course will be James Brown and the training will be OSU-FST sanctioned.
       Donnie Gray also scheduled a Vehicle Extrication course that will be held on July 10th from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. and July 11th from 6:30 a.m. until approximately 3:00 p.m. at the Haworth Fire Station.  The instructor for the course will be Dave Nichols and the training will be OSU-FST sanctioned.
       Middleton reported that the McCurtain County Firefighters Association will be hosting a Basic Storm Spotter course on Tuesday, May 11th, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Broken Bow Fire Department.

       Hattabaugh moved to adjourn.  Carrell seconded.  All members in favor.  Meeting adjourned at 6:53 p.m.
