Minutes of Regular Monthly Meeting
of the
Haworth Volunteer Fire Department

CALL TO ORDER
The Haworth Volunteer Fire Department held a regularly scheduled monthly business meeting on Tuesday, June 4, 2002 at the Haworth Fire Station.  Meeting was called to order at 6:35 p.m. by Chief Middleton.  Members present were: Marsh, Owens, Middleton, White, Cowart, Donaldson, Batson, Wright, Storey, and Smith.

MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING
Minutes of the previous meeting were read.  Wright moved to accept.    Owens seconded.  All members in favor.  Minutes approved.

FINANCIAL REPORT
Beginning Balance:    $     626.17
Income:                    $18,000.00    Bureau of Indian Affairs – Grant for New Brush Truck
Expenses:                 $18,000.00    James Hodge Ford – Balance on 2002 F250 Pickup
Ending Balance:        $     626.17
Donaldson moved to accept finance report.  Owens seconded.  All members in favor.  Finance report approved.

OLD BUSINESS
Storey reported that Sam Scranton (Bureau of Indian Affairs) had reported that the paperwork pertaining to the wildland training had been lost.  Replacement forms were completed and will be submitted to the BIA.

Storey also reported that Sam Scranton would visit the department on Tuesday, June 11th, at 6:00 p.m. to inspect the new brush truck and provide media photo opportunities.  All members urged to attend.

Middleton reported that Tank-3 had been repaired and was operational.  Side running lights have been installed.  He further reported that one U-Bolt on Engine-1 had been replaced.

NEW BUSINESS
Middleton and Wright reported that the new brush truck (Truck-3) had won “Newest Truck” at the annual Fire Truck Parade in Hugo, OK.

Members discussed grant applications received from KEDDO.  Three were 50/50 matching grants, one was an 80/20 matching grant.  Members agreed that the 50/50 grants should be submitted for the purchase of new radios (6 handhelds and 2 mobiles) and the 80/20 should be submitted for equipment.  The equipment could be used to equip the new pumper/tanker, if the department is awarded a 2002 FIRE Act Grant from FEMA.

Cowart moved to adjourn.  Wright seconded.  Meeting adjourned at 7:02 p.m.
