Minutes of Regular Monthly Meeting
of the
Haworth Volunteer Fire Department

CALL TO ORDER
The Haworth Volunteer Fire Department held a regularly scheduled monthly business meeting on Tuesday, July 2, 2002 at the Haworth Fire Station.  Meeting was called to order at 6:35 p.m. by Chief Middleton.  Members present were: Hall, Middleton, M. Carrell, Marsh, Ebert, Batson, Wright, Farley, Donaldson, Boyd, Kates, Storey, and Cowart.

MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING
Minutes of the previous meeting were read.  Wright moved to accept.    Donaldson seconded.  All members in favor.  Minutes approved.

FINANCIAL REPORT
Beginning Balance:    $     626.17
Income:                    $              0   
Expenses:                 $              0   
Ending Balance:        $     626.17
Ebert moved to accept finance report.  Batson seconded.  All members in favor.  Finance report approved.

ELECTION OF SECRETARY/TREASURER
Middleton opened the floor for nominations for the office of secretary/treasurer.  Batson nominated Storey.  Wright seconded.  Batson moved to cease nominations. Wright seconded.  Storey elected secretary/treasurer by acclamation.

OLD BUSINESS
None

NEW BUSINESS
Marsh reported that someone had attempted to steal Tank-1 in the early morning hours of July 1st.  Middleton is to install locks on the doors.

Members discussed the payments received for attending the Bureau of Indian Affairs wildland firefighting training and the possibility of combining the paychecks in order to purchase items for the department.  Participation is strictly voluntary and members are not required to donate their money to the department.  Wright suggested that interested members pool their money together to purchase a television, VCR, medical kits, and/or bunker gear bags.  A decision on what to purchase will be made by those members donating their paychecks.
