Minutes of Special Meeting
of the
Haworth Volunteer Fire Department
CALL
TO ORDER
The Haworth Volunteer Fire Department held a
specially
scheduled business meeting on Wednesday, August 20, 2003 at the Haworth
Fire
Station. Meeting was called to order at
7:23
p.m. by Boyd. Members present were:
Carrell,
Boyd, Batson, Donaldson, Wright, Owens, Middleton, Hall, Cowart, and
Storey.
PURCHASE
OF PPE, SCBA, COMPRESSOR, FILL STATION, CASCADE SYSTEM, ETC.
Storey reported that the FIRE Act Grant money had
been
deposited into the Fire Department’s checking account.
Members discussed the recent presentations of
equipment vendors.
Members discussed the purchase of SCBA.
Wright moved to purchase eighteen (18) Scott
AirPak 50, 2216 p.s.i., Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) with
carbon
composite cylinders and hard cases from Wayest Safety in Tulsa, OK.
Middleton seconded. All members
in favor. Purchase approved.
Members discussed the purchase of spare aluminum
SCBA
cylinders. Owens moved to purchase
eighteen (18) Scott aluminum spare cylinders from Wayest Safety in
Tulsa,
OK. Donaldson seconded.
All members in favor. Purchase
approved.
Members discussed
the purchase of smoke respirators. Cowart
moved to purchase eight (8) Scott
AV3000 face masks, eight (8) Scott twin cartridge adapters, and two
boxes of
P100 filters from Wayest Safety in Tulsa, OK.
Owens seconded. All members in
favor. Purchase approved.
Members discussed the purchase of helmets. Wright moved to purchase fifteen (15) Cairns
660C Metro helmets from Casco Industries in Oklahoma City, OK (thirteen
black
and two white). Hall seconded. All members in favor. Purchase
approved.
Members discussed
the purchase of bunker gear. Donaldson
moved to purchase fifteen (15) sets
of khaki colored Morning Pride bunker gear (coats, pants &
suspenders)
constructed of Advantage material with “HAWORTH” on the top of the
backs and
firefighter’s names on the tails of the coats from Wayest Safety in
Tulsa,
OK. Cowart seconded. All
members in favor. Purchase approved.
Members discussed
the purchase of boots. Owens moved to
purchase fifteen (15) pairs of
Pro Warrington leather firefighting boots (model 4132SG) from Wayest
Safety in Tulsa,
OK. Cowart seconded. All
members in favor. Purchase approved.
Members discussed purchasing wildland turnout gear. Batson moved to table the purchase. Donaldson seconded. All
members in favor. Purchase tabled.
Members discussed purchasing a breathing air
compressor,
fill station and cascade system. Wright
moved to table the purchase. Cowart
seconded. All members in favor. Purchase tabled.
Members discussed purchasing a Flow Test Kit to flow
test
the department’s pumpers and fire hydrants.
Batson moved to purchase the test kit from Ferrara Fire
Apparatus. Middleton seconded. All members in favor. Purchase
approved.
