CALL TO ORDER
The Haworth Volunteer Fire Department held a regular monthly business meeting on Tuesday, September 4, 2001 at the Haworth Fire Station.  Meeting was called to order at 6:50 p.m. by Chief Middleton.  Members present were: Ferguson,  Hattabaugh, Middleton, Wright, Hall, Marsh, and Storey.

MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING
Minutes of the previous meeting were read.  Hall moved to accept.   Ferguson  seconded.  All members in favor.  Minutes approved.

FINANCIAL REPORT
Beginning Balance: $    273.58
Income:                 $             0
Expenses:              $             0
Ending Balance:     $    273.58

Hattabaugh moved to accept finance report.  Wright seconded.  All members in favor.  Finance report approved.

KEDDO GRANT
Storey reported that the official award letter for the 50/50 grant had been received.   The grant is to be used to purchase new bunker gear.

REPAIRS TO TRUCK-3
Middleton reported that he had visited with Mark Jennings about Truck-3.  Jennings offered to buy a replacement motor for the truck.  Hattabaugh moved to rescind the motion to sell Truck-3 and accept Jennings’ offer to buy the motor.  Hall seconded.  All members in favor.  Motion rescinded.

HIRE FIREFIGHTER
Storey reported that Michael Carrell had agreed to place his bunker gear at the fire station while he was attending CLEET training.  This will allow the department to equip one additional firefighter until the new bunker gear is delivered.  Two applications are on file: Jenny Misener and Sonny Carrell.  Hattabaugh moved to hire Sonny Carrell due to his previous fire service experience, training, and his daytime availability.  Wright seconded.  All members in favor.  Motion carried.  Sonny Carrell enrolled as firefighter effective this date.

OLD BUSINESS

NEW BUSINESS
Ferguson reported that a Pie & Cake Walk and Auction has been scheduled for October 13, 2001 at 7:00 p.m.  The event will be held at the Pollard Substation and proceeds will be used to purchase equipment for the Pollard Substation.  He also stated that the Bokhoma Masonic Lodge has agreed to match up to $1,000.

Hall moved to adjourn.  Hattabaugh seconded.  Meeting adjourned at 6:55 p.m.
