CALL TO ORDER
The Haworth Volunteer Fire Department held a regular monthly business meeting on Tuesday, October 2, 2001 at the Haworth Fire Station.  Meeting was called to order at 6:41 p.m. by Chief Middleton.  Members present were: Farley, Middleton, Owens, Donaldson, Cowart, White, & Storey.

MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING
Minutes of the previous meeting were read.  Cowart moved to accept.   Owens  seconded.  All members in favor.  Minutes approved.

FINANCIAL REPORT
Beginning Balance: $    273.58
Income:                 $             0
Expenses:              $             0
Ending Balance:     $    273.58

Cowart moved to accept finance report.  Donaldson seconded.  All members in favor.  Finance report approved.

OLD BUSINESS
None

NEW BUSINESS
Storey reported that the department had received a grant application from the Bureau of Indian Affairs.  Maximum amount of grant is $20,000 plus a minimum local match of 10%.  Donaldson moved to apply for maximum amount to be applied toward the purchase of a new or late model 3/4 ton 4x4 pickup with a new slide-in pump/tank unit.  Cowart seconded.  All members in favor.  Motion carried.

Donaldson moved to adjourn.  Owens seconded.  Meeting adjourned at 6:48 p.m.
