Minutes of Regular Monthly Meeting
of the
Haworth Volunteer Fire Department
CALL TO ORDER
The Haworth Volunteer Fire Department held a regularly scheduled monthly business meeting on Tuesday, December 3, 2002 at the Haworth Fire Station.  Meeting was called to order at 6:34 p.m. by Middleton.  Members present were: Marsh, Cowart, Donaldson, Smith, Middleton, Wright, Hall, Ferguson, Farley, Boyd, & Batson.

MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING
Not available due to absence of Secretary/Treasurer.

FINANCIAL REPORT
Beginning Balance:    $     926.17
Income:                    $     150.00    Town of Haworth - $1 Donations from Residents
Expenses:                 $              0   
Ending Balance:        $  1,076.17
Hall moved to accept.  Wright seconded.  All members in favor.  Report approved.

OLD BUSINESS
The surplus handheld radios were sold to Lindsey Communications for $1,000.

NEW BUSINESS
Middleton informed members that he had resigned as Fire Chief effective this date.  He reported that the Town Council had accepted his resignation and appointed Jeff Boyd as the department’s new Fire Chief.  Middleton explained that his resignation was due to his lack of sufficient time to devote to departmental matters.  He stated that he would stay on the department as a firefighter.  Boyd appointed Middleton as a Captain.
 
Members were reminded of the upcoming Christmas Parades.  The Idabel Christmas Parade will be held on Friday, December 6, at 7:00 p.m.  Members decided to enter Engine-2 and Truck-3.  The Haworth Christmas Parade will be held on Saturday, December 7, at 2:00 p.m.  All available members urged to attend.
