Haworth Volunteer Fire Department
CALL
TO ORDER:
The Haworth Volunteer Fire
Department held a regularly scheduled monthly business meeting on Monday, December 13, 2004 at the Haworth Fire
Department. Chief
Vic Marsh called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m.
Members present were: Donnie Gray, Richard Owens, Aubrey Gray,
Ryan
Scott, Lyndon Farley, Floyd Middleton, Vic Marsh, Chad Wright, Mark
Kates, John
Coffman, Jim Ferguson, Eric Jackson, Kyle Batson, and Kirk Storey. Junior Firefighters present were: Landon
Middleton, Jarred Campbell, Kyle Gray, and Shane Farley.
Guests present were: Dewayne Franklin and
Danny Hulse from KME.
MINUTES
OF PREVIOUS MEETING:
Minutes of the previous meeting were
presented. Donnie Gray moved to accept
the minutes as written. Owens
seconded. All members in favor. Minutes approved.

financial report. Wright seconded. All members in favor. Financial

OLD
BUSINESS:
Donnie Gray reminded members about
the required 12 hours of training annually.
He requested members lacking training hours to contact him.
Storey reported that the lease
agreement with the USFS had been finalized.
The department must now begin coordinating the movement of the
repeater
to the Tiak Lookout Tower with the FCC.
Marsh reported that the new tires
for Engine-3 had been received and installed.
Marsh also reported that a
replacement pumper for the Pollard Substation had been located in
Oxbow, New York.
The Oxbow Fire Department accepted a $5,000 offer for the 1985
Ford
1000/1000 pumper. Marsh stated that the County Commissioner had agreed to pay
for shipping
costs for the pumper. When the
replacement pumper is placed in service, Engine-4 will be moved to Haworth and Engine-2 will be
sold. The proceeds from the sale of the
1972
Ford/Hahn will be used to construct the new Redland Substation.
Storey reported that matching fund
checks from the Bokhoma and the Goodwater Masonic Lodges had been
received. Also, the special projects
grant from Senator Jeff Rabon has also been received.
NEW
BUSINESS:
Storey reported that he had been
contacted by a daughter of Harold & Betty Tipton.
She stated that Mr. Tipton has serious
medical conditions and sometimes gets choked while eating.
She wanted to make the department aware of
the situation in the event that assistance was needed.
Wright stated that he had access to
fire training videos at Domtar. When the
training schedule for 2005 is established, he can obtain appropriate
videos. Donnie Gray stated that OSU also
has a lending library of training videos.
